The Actors' Post and Leeds Beckett University Partner Up Again

After a successful “pilot” of a programme launched in 2019 with Leeds Beckett University's module team for Live Event Coverage, where students interviewed entertainment industry professionals from around the world, The Actors’ Post is back at it again in 2021!

Over the coming days, 9 brilliant and accomplished artistes in their areas of expertise will be featured by a new cohort of talented students from the module. The students and artistes are currently in the midst of a schedule with interviews underway and managed by the students themselves. During these sessions, they will get to test their researching, interviewing and video editing skills, producing a 1-2 minute promo video of their randomly allocated artistes, which will contribute to their assessment grades.

The aim of this is multi-faceted approach is to give these first-year students and media executives of the future the experience of working with an industry partner (who assisted with setting the brief); apply the theory taught in their lectures and also, have the space to show their creativity using footage from their interview, to produce a quality end product, that will be published on The Actors' Post website and social media pages.

Founder and CEO of The Actors’ Post Alister Albert, who was a late addition to the artiste line-up as well, expressed his gratitude for the latest collaboration:

“I'm grateful for being approached to assist the running of this module again and I'm happy because I’ve seen the impact this collaboration has had in terms of being able to nurture talent, give constructive feedback to students after evaluating their work, how this contributes to their learning and grades and also, for being able to feature some amazing people who were willing to share some of their time with us and their stories.

"After the success of Live Event Coverage being nominated for "Module of the Year" at the Golden Robe Awards in 2019 and directly contributing to the success of the website being named "Media Start-up of the Year" in 2020...doing this again was a no-brainer."
